Who is required to attend Destination Witt?
- New freshmen and transfer students are required to attend an Orientation session.
- If a student accepts admission after orientation sessions or has a special circumstance that makes them unable to attend any session, they will need to contact the Orientation Coordinator at summerorientation@wittenberg.edu.
- College Credit Plus (CCP), Graduate, and International Students are not required to attend an orientation session, but are welcome to do so. They may also request information by contacting the Summer Orientation Coordinator at summerorientation@wittenberg.edu.
What is the cost of Destination Witt?
- The cost of Destination Witt for incoming students and up to three guests is included in your enrollment deposit. There will be a $20 charge to your student account for each additional guest.
Where should I stay if I want to get a hotel room overnight?
Will I meet with my advisor at Destination Witt?
- First-year students are advised by their Success Advisors and first-year seminar (FYS) faculty members. (Students who declare a major prior to the start of the fall semester will be advised by a faculty advisor in their major along with a Success Advisor). Each student meet with their Success Advisor at Destination Witt. Students will also will meet with faculty throughout the day, but they may not meet with their specific FYS instructor.
Can I declare a major or minor at Destination Witt?
- As a liberal arts university, Wittenberg prides itself on providing an academic environment and a general education program that allows students to explore many areas of interest and passion before deciding on a major(s) and/or minor(s). While you can declare a major and/or minor at Destination Witt, there is no pressure to do so! Students often declare following their first or second semesters, but are not required to declare until March of sophomore year.
- As a transfer student, Destination Witt is a great time to declare your major and make scheduling adjustments that better fit your academic experience. You will be able to discuss a major declaration during the advising session.
Will I be able to meet with any specific offices during Destination Witt?
- Several campus offices will be available during the Engagement Fair to answer general questions. If you have a specific office or individual with whom you would like to connect, provide that information in your orientation registration or email summerorientation@wittenberg.edu.
As a student-athlete, will I be able to meet my team or coach at Destination Witt?
- Athletics staff will be present at Destination Witt to discuss the student-athlete experience at Wittenberg. If you want to meet with your coach specifically, please reach out your coach to see if they are available to connect with you during check-in or the Engagement Fair.
As a student in the Honors Program, are there any meetings that I need to attend at Destination Witt?
- Congratulations! The Honors Program will have a table at the Engagement Fair to greet you and answer any questions you might have. They will also host a breakout session available for family members.
As a family member attending the Destination Witt with my student, why are we being separated for the middle part of the day?
- Your student will be taking on more ownership and responsibility in their academic experience as they begin college. We want students to become accustomed to learning new information, asking questions, and interacting with others, independently. It is also important that they begin making social connections with their peers and get to know Witt鈥檚 faculty members through interactive sessions.
What if my Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exam scores are reported after I attend Destination Witt?
- The Registrar's Office will review how the scores may impact your class schedule and make changes as necessary. To follow up with the scores and class schedule changes, please reach out to the Registrar's Office at 937-327-6131 or registrar@wittenberg.edu.
As a commuter student, is Destination Witt really necessary?
- Even as a local student, it's important for you to identify the campus resources and opportunities available to help you in your experience at Wittenberg. Commuter students will receive a campus tour that highlights lockers, microwaves, and lounges across campus. In addition, you'll be able to get connected with our student organization focused on the commuter connection: Traveling Tigers.

Someone in my party has disability that might impact my participation in Destination Witt. What should I do for accommodations during the event?
