Hi everyone at home reading! I miss you all so much! Just to sum up yesterday we worked at the habitat in the morning and mixed A LOT of cement. Kylah, Sofia, and I made the front step of the house after we finished the inside floor. After lunch we headed to the community center to see a couple performances the kids have been practicing for us. It was really fun to watch and really interesting to learn about what they all mean. The boys put on two dances for us, one was before men go off to war and the other one was about men coming back from the mines.
After we saw the dances, we hung out with the kids for a little bit and bought some of a local’s sand art which was breath taking! I bought a couple things and can’t wait to show you all when I get home! Mack, Sofia, Emily, and I went back to change then we went on a run/walk with some of our little friends! It was so fun and a beautiful view as well! Today we had a free day so this morning Sofia, Mack, and I decided to go on a walk, which we ended up doing 2.2 miles and it was really fun to just chat and see the beautiful views. After our walk we had a delicious breakfast with pancakes, fruit, eggs, toast, and chicken sausage. It was soooo good. The fruit is so delicious.
When we were done with breakfast Sofia, Mack, Kylah, Hannah, Natalie, and I went to the church here which was insanely beautiful. The singing was so beautiful. We stayed for about an hour then came back for filling lunch before pony trekking. At around 2 we went outside to meet all the ponies. They call them Lesotho Ponies because they are smaller and have smaller feet so they can walk up and down on the mountains and on all the rocks. I picked the white and grey pony, and she was adorable. We trekked all the way to the cave painting which was about 2 miles up and down a mountain. It was really fun but also a little scary. As you all know I am a little bit of a scardy cat. It was beautiful though and so worth it. We trekked the 2 miles back then had a delicious ³ÉÈËAV and went out to see the AMAZING stars again and we were able to see the milky way! It was sooo cool. Now we are all just enjoying the rest of the night and chatting. See you all soon!
Looking at the same stars
