Lesotho Blog 2025, Day 15 - Happy Tears

Hello everyone!! Missing you ALL! This morning, we said our official goodbyes to Ramabanta. Sooooo we were all in tears, especially yesterday. Sad but happy tears. Sad tears because we have really come to love Ramabanta and the people who live here and happy tears due to the friends and connections we got to make that will last a lifetime!

On our way to our next destination, we stopped at St. Joseph’s hospital for a tour. The hospital had an emergency department, outpatient, male and female wards, and pediatrics. They also had a section for labor and delivery. The male, female, and pediatric wards had a surgical and medical side. The medical section was toward the front and the surgical section was separated by a door and in the back. Kind of hard to explain but hopefully that makes sense.

After lunch we went to tour Partners in Health Lesotho which specializes in TB and HIV treatment. We started in the ICU…which was beautiful. It had all of the latest equipment, including a portable x-ray machine and was the newest building onsite. Next, we went through the wards that held the TB patients. All of the rooms in the facility had a negative pressure system, UV lights and everyone who worked (or toured) wore an N-95 mask for protection. We then got to go to all of the offices and meet the staff, including the lab. It was really cool!

Thank you for reading!!!
